Which Ohm model do I need?
The model depends on your electricity connection type. Most homes use Single-Phase (1P), while larger homes, offices, and commercial spaces often use Three-Phase (3P). You can check your electricity bill to see if it mentions 1P or 3P. If you're unsure, your electrician can easily confirm the correct option.
What electricity consumption data does the app show?
The app shows real-time total power usage, energy consumption (daily/monthly), appliance-level usage, usage trends, estimated electricity costs, phase-wise active power, reactive power, power factor, voltage and current reading and power quality events.
How many appliances can be seen on a single dashboard?
The dashboard shows 9 appliance categories: AC, refrigerator, geyser, washing machine, EV charger, dishwasher, heating appliances (microwave, iron, etc.), lights/fans and others (chargers, etc.).
Will SustLabs provide demo training to the customer?
Yes. SustLabs provides demo and training support to help customers understand the app, dashboard, features, alerts, and overall system usage for smooth adoption. A Contact Us option is also available in the Ohm Assistant app.
What is the warranty for the product?
The product comes with a 1-year standard warranty from the date of installation.
What is the typical lifespan of the device?
Since the device has no moving parts, its lifespan is comparable to that of an MCB or standard electrical meter. It is designed for long-term operation inside the distribution board
Will SustLabs start charging for the app in the future? If yes, how much?
The app subscription is priced at ₹30 per month (₹360 per year) to support secure cloud storage, server infrastructure, and ongoing app maintenance. Currently, this subscription fee is waived for the first year, allowing users to access all app features without any charges during this period. This ensures reliable performance, secure data management, and continuous improvements to the platform.
Since the device is WiFi-enabled, is there a limited range to view real-time consumption on the app?
No. Once the device is connected to your local WiFi network, it operates independently and continuously pushes data to the cloud. You can access real-time consumption data from anywhere, even if you are not physically present at the premises.
Is my data safe and is my privacy protected?
Yes. All your data is securely stored on SustLabs’ servers and is protected under our Data Protection Policy. We follow strict security protocols to ensure your information remains safe and confidential.
How do I generate energy statements?
Energy statements can be generated anytime through the app. Go to More → Plan Your Budget → Generate, enter your email ID, and select the start and end dates to receive the statement via email.
If abnormalities are observed in the app, will customer service assist?
Yes. Users can raise a service request directly through the Ohm Assistant app, and the support team will respond within 2 working days.
How much time does the device take to understand electrical equipment and consumption patterns?
The device begins classifying appliances from the day of installation. Since it uses machine learning algorithms, its accuracy improves continuously with usage. While basic detection starts immediately, appliance-level accuracy may take a few days up to 45 days, depending on usage patterns and appliance behavior.
On how many mobile phones can the customer use the SustLabs app simultaneously?
The app can be accessed on multiple mobile phones simultaneously using the same user login credentials.
Will installing the device create any dispute with the electricity supplier?
No. The device is installed inside the customer’s distribution board and does not interfere with the utility meter or the electricity supplier’s infrastructure, so it does not create any dispute.
How accurate is SustLabs’ overall consumption measurement?
SustLabs’ system measures overall electricity consumption with up to 99% accuracy when compared with utility meter readings. Minor variations may occur due to differences in meter reading dates, billing cycles, and final unit calculations by the electricity provider.
Will the installation damage my existing MCB box?
No. The device is DIN-rail mountable and designed in a standard size to fit inside a regular MCB box. A trained electrician can install it safely without damaging your existing electrical setup.
Will this device work in common open areas of a building (like lifts, lights, and motors)?
Yes. The device captures data from the mains, so the physical location of the equipment does not matter. It can monitor lifts, lights, motors, and other loads as long as they are connected through the monitored distribution board.
Will I be charged for installation?
SustLabs is a product-based company. Installation can be done by our channel partners or a local trained electrician. Charges, if applicable, depend on labour and travel costs decided by them.
How will the device be installed if I have a power protector or inverter?
The device is installed after the power protector, inside the distribution board. This ensures accurate monitoring of all connected loads while maintaining compatibility with your existing power protector and inverter setup.
Can this device track my room AC and hall AC separately?
To track similar appliances separately, they need to be connected to different phases. In a 3-phase setup, up to three similar appliances (one per phase) can be monitored separately.
How much energy does the device consume?
The device consumes less than 1 watt of power, which is typically under 1 unit (kWh) per month, making it highly energy-efficient and negligible in overall electricity usage.
How much internet data does the device consume for real-time updates?
The device consumes a very minimal amount of internet data for real-time updates. Its data usage is negligible and comparable to other lightweight IoT devices, so it does not significantly impact your broadband consumption.
How do I connect/pair the device with WiFi?
The device can be configured to WiFi using a mobile phone or laptop by following the step-by-step instructions provided in the user manual.
