Ohm Assistant 4th Gen is designed to bring greater safety, visibility, and control to your home’s electrical system by transforming your distribution board into an intelligent monitoring and protection system. Built for modern homes and connected spaces, it continuously tracks your power supply and helps you stay aware of how electricity is being delivered and used.

The system actively monitors electrical parameters to detect anomalies such as voltage fluctuations, overload conditions, and other irregularities that could affect appliance safety or electrical stability. By identifying these issues early, Ohm helps you stay informed and take timely action before small electrical problems escalate into larger risks.

Alongside advanced protection, it also provides clear energy insights through the app, helping you understand electricity consumption, identify high-energy appliances, and monitor usage patterns. With real-time monitoring, timely alerts, and actionable insights, Ohm Assistant 4th Gen offers a smarter and more reliable way to manage and protect your electricity.

Ideal for

  • Residential Homes Suitable for apartments and independent houses, providing real-time monitoring and enhanced electrical safety.
  • Older Properties Ideal for buildings with aging wiring or electrical infrastructure, helping prevent hazards and protect appliances.
  • Luxury / High-Value Homes Recommended for homes with high-load appliances and sensitive electronics, ensuring both safety and energy visibility.
  • Small Commercial Establishments Perfect for retail shops, offices, restaurants and service businesses that require continuous uptime and operational efficiency.

Real-Time Alerts & Actions When Ohm detects a serious electrical condition, it immediately sends an alert to your phone, allowing you to respond quickly. You can optionally connect a shunt release device (purchased separately and compatible with your MCB) to enable automatic power cutoff, providing an added layer of safety by isolating the circuit before the issue escalates.
Real-Time Monitoring Track your home’s electricity usage in real time, view consumption patterns throughout the day, and get appliance-level insights all in one place. Ohm actively watches for unusual electrical activity and notifies you instantly if something out of the ordinary occurs.
Appliance-Level Energy Insights Ohm identifies major appliances like your AC, geyser, EVs, refrigerator and washing machine and tracks their energy usage separately, helping you understand where electricity is being consumed the most.
Smarter Insights Over Time As Ohm learns your usage patterns, its insights become more accurate, helping you better understand your home’s energy behavior.
Bill Estimation & Consumption Alerts Track estimated electricity costs and set consumption limits so you can manage usage proactively and avoid unexpected bills.

Comprehensive Safety: 14 Fault Types

Ohm 4th Gen detects 14 critical electrical faults, helping protect your building and appliances from:

  • Electrical fires – arcing, short circuits, neutral loss, high harmonics
  • Electric shocks – earth leakage

Installation & Setup

Your electrician installs Ohm either in your distribution board (DB) or in the meter room. The installation takes 30–45 minutes and requires an appropriately rated circuit breaker with a compatible shunt release. Once installed, download the Ohm app, connect via WiFi, and your system is ready. Ohm starts learning your electrical patterns immediately.

What electricity consumption data does the app show?

The app shows real-time total power usage, energy consumption (daily/monthly), appliance-level usage, usage trends, estimated electricity costs, phase-wise active power, reactive power, power factor, voltage and current reading and power quality events.

How many appliances can be seen on a single dashboard?

The dashboard shows 9 appliance categories: AC, refrigerator, geyser, washing machine, EV charger, dishwasher, heating appliances (microwave, iron, etc.), lights/fans and others (chargers, etc.).

Will SustLabs provide demo training to the customer?

Yes. SustLabs provides demo and training support to help customers understand the app, dashboard, features, alerts, and overall system usage for smooth adoption. A Contact Us option is also available in the Ohm Assistant app.

Will I be charged for installation?

Installation can be done by any local qualified electrician. Charges for installation would be paid by the customer directly to the electrician. On-call support for installation is available without additional charges

Will the installation damage my existing MCB box?

No. The device is DIN-rail mountable and designed in a standard size to fit inside a regular MCB box. A trained electrician can install it safely without damaging your existing electrical setup.

Does the 4th Gen device include protection (automatic tripping)?

The 4th Gen device does not come with built-in tripping protection by default. Automatic circuit isolation is possible only when used with a shunt trip mechanism. If protection (automatic tripping) is required, the device must be installed together with a compatible shunt trip accessory.

Will this device work in an open area of a building (like lifts, lights, and motors)?

Yes. The device captures data from the mains, so the physical location of the equipment does not matter. It can monitor lifts, lights, motors, and other loads as long as they are connected through the monitored distribution board.

What happens to my data if there’s a WiFi outage?

Ohm continues monitoring, and fire protection works even without WiFi. However, appliance-level insights require an active internet connection. If WiFi is unavailable for an extended period, detailed appliance breakdown data may not be captured. Once WiFi is restored, normal appliance tracking resumes. User notifications are only sent once the internet connection is restored.

What if I have a single-phase connection but the device is three-phase?

You can still use the three-phase device with a single-phase connection. The installation process for a single-phase setup varies slightly. Please refer to the manual for detailed instructions, or reach out to our support team to understand the installation process.

Is this a replacement for my circuit breaker?

No. Ohm works alongside your existing circuit breaker. It acts as an intelligent monitoring and protection layer on top of standard safety systems. It continuously analyzes electrical patterns to detect potential risks and provides alerts to help users take timely action, while the existing circuit breaker continues to perform its standard protection functions.

Will my electrician know how to install it?

Yes. The device is installed just like a standard submeter inside the electrical distribution board. Any licensed electrician familiar with submeter or distribution board installations should be able to install it easily.

Can this prevent electrical fires?

Ohm is designed to detect abnormal electrical patterns that may indicate potential safety risks. By identifying these conditions early, it helps alert users so timely action can be taken. This early detection capability helps reduce the risk of electrical incidents that could otherwise escalate if left unnoticed.

Does this work in older buildings?

Yes. Especially in older properties. Aging wiring can develop insulation breakdowns, micro-fractures and loose connections. Ohm detects these early warning signs, making the added protection layer even more valuable in such environments.

How often does Ohm check for faults?

Continuously. Ohm monitors voltage, current, phase relationships, harmonics and frequency 24/7 at millisecond-level intervals to ensure real-time fault detection and protection.

What if I need higher amperage?

The 4th Gen device supports up to 200 amps using external CTs, making it suitable for large commercial and industrial installations.
